Background: Becoming
ISO9000 registered can be a lengthy and costly process. This
helps the unaccredited certification bodies to proliferate. We sometimes hear from
businesses feeling that they have been misled by unaccredited Certification Bodies, offering
"Guaranteed ISO9000 certification in 30 days". Well, they would
guarantee it, wouldn't they? As well as telling you what to do (often using
procedures which do not change from one company to another, except for a few
mail-merged fields), they also issue
you their own ISO9000 "certificate". But, these organisations are entirely
self-appointed and under no control by the Government-appointed agency, UKAS (United
Kingdom Accreditation Service). The business using their services often find
that their customers will not accept these "certificates". So, besides wasting
thousands of pounds, businesses who have been misled in
this way will probably also find themselves not being able to tender for a lot
of work. Or they will keep filling out Tender documents or
applying to be short-listed and never managing to get on that list. IN THE UK, IF IT
ISN'T UKAS,
THEN IT ISN'T WORTH HAVING.
IT'S MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN! Solution
- FAST TRACK ISO9000: We
put our thinking caps on, and decided that the best way to tackle this problem was to try to offer genuine ISO9000 certification (UKAS-accredited) at
a price and a speed which comes close to the unaccredited certification bodies.
-
We sat down with some UKAS-accredited Certification Bodies and
discussed this with them.
-
We looked at how we can streamline the consultancy side so as
to focus exactly on what ISO9000 requires and nothing else
-
We looked at what it would be reasonable to expect you to do and what would be reasonable for us to do.
As a result, we can now offer:
-
ISO9000 certification
-
by a UKAS-accredited
Certification Body
-
We aim to do it within two months
-
We provide a fixed-price quotation, covering all of the consultancy
required to get you to the assessment by the Certification Body
-
Everything to get the certificate into your hands and keep it there!
-
After the assessment, we will stay with you to help you keep your ISO9000
registration.
We can offer 30-day payment
terms by invoice and also monthly payment terms, subject to discussion and agreement.
For a company employing 15 people or less at a single location,
the cost of consultancy would typically be £1,500 - £2,000. Following
assessment, we would typically need to conduct 2 - 3 sets of audits per year, at
a cost of approximately £1,000 to £1,500 in total.
