1 Scope

1.1 General ISO9001 states that it applies to organisations
  • needing to demonstrate their ability to consistently supply products & services which meet requirements
  • that aim to "enhance customer satisfaction"
1.2 Application This clause allows organisations to claim that relevant sub-clauses do not apply. However, these exclusions can only be claimed against clause 7.

So this means that organisations cannot claim (for example) that clause 4.2.4 does not apply to their activities.

If a sub-clause is claimed for exclusion, the organisation must gve a valid reason for the claim.
